MEDIATION talks have taken place between a North Berwick pub owner and local residents.
The Auld Hoose pub, on Forth Street, was ordered to have the meetings by East Lothian Licensing Board after complaints from locals.
A number of residents complained about noise and the behaviour of customers at the pub, owned by Greene King Belhaven.
Jim Goodfellow, a North Berwick Coastal Ward councillor who chairs the licensing board, believed the talks would help put an end to the problems.
The first meeting took place in April, with Kathryn Smith and Peter Hamilton, from North Berwick Community Council, invited to attend.
At a recent NBCC meeting, Mr Hamilton said: “It seemed to be quite a positive meeting.”
Craig Edwards, the pub’s landlord, previously told the Courier after the licensing board’s decision he wanted to work with the residents to solve the problems.
He said: “I hope mediation will help us come to a reasonable outcome.”
